Lake Superior is home to the now native and wild steelhead. Introduced in the late 1800s these fish have now naturalized to lake superior meaning they naturally reproduce without the interference of man. This unique ecosystem allows anglers the ability to catch and enjoy the same lighting-fast drag screaming fish that people on the east coast love to catch. There is always something special when you get to bring one of these fish to the net.

During a typical day you can expect to catch fish from three to eight lbs., occasionally you can see fish over the 30-inch mark. The season typically starts the last Saturday in March. The season goes until late May or early June. We target these fish with fly rods, typically set up accordingly to conditions, our goal is to make successful trout fishing accessible to all skill levels so we will tailor the instruction to the things you want to work on, from the basics to the intricate details.

Rates:

• Full day guided trip for 3 anglers: $700
• Full day guided trip for 2 anglers: $600
• Full day guided trip for 1 anglers: $450

Rates include:

• a full day of fishing, 8+ hours on the river
• lunch – includes a sandwich, chips, granola bar, fruit, and cookies
• drinks – water and soda
• shuttle
• flies
• loaner rods/reels

Wisconsin/Minnesota State fishing license is not included in the price.  You will want to obtain your license before the first day of your trip to avoid any delays getting on the river.  You can buy your license online. 

Deposit:  A 50% deposit is due immediately to hold your confirmed date.  The remaining 50% will be due at the time of your trip.

Payment:  We accept cash, checks, and credit cards.  If you would like to pay with a credit card let us know and we’ll email you an invoice.  Checks can be made out to Hunter Ellstrom Media and sent to Mail Box

Cancellation Policy:  Your deposit is refundable up to 30 days before your scheduled trip.   Exceptions will be made when your guide cancels the trip due to river or weather conditions.
