DRIFTLESS TROUT

The Driftless region is well know for it’s brown and brook trout fishing. While brook trout are the only true native trout to these waters. Brown trout where introduced in the late 1800s and now call the driftless area home.

During a typical day you can expect to catch fish from the eight to fifteen inch mark, occasionally you can see fish over the twenty inch mark. The season starts January first for catch and release. The harvest season starts in May during fishing opener. The season goes until early October. We target these fish with fly rods, typically set up accordingly to conditions and that days hatches our goal is to make successful trout fishing accessible to all skill levels so we will tailor the instruction to the things you want to work on, from the basics to the intricate details.

Rates:

  • Full day guided trip for 3 anglers: $650 Half-day guided trip: $450
  • Full day guided trip for 2 anglers: $550 Half-day guided trip: $350
  • Full day guided trip for 1 anglers: $400 Half-day guided trip: $250

Rates include:

  • a full day of fishing, 8+ hours on the river
  • lunch – includes a sandwich, chips, granola bar, fruit, and cookies
  • drinks – water and soda
  • shuttle
  • flies
  • loaner rods/reels

Additionally, If interested in day rates for photography we offer a package deal  for an additional $200.00 dollars a day.

Wisconsin State fishing license is not included in the price.  You will want to obtain your license before the first day of your trip to avoid any delays getting on the river.  You can buy your license online. 

Deposit:  A 50% deposit is due immediately to hold your confirmed date.  The remaining 50% will be due at the time of your trip.

Payment:  We accept cash, checks, and credit cards.  If you would like to pay with a credit card let us know and we’ll email you an invoice.  Checks can be made out to Hunter Ellstrom Media and sent to Mail Box

Cancellation Policy:  Your deposit is refundable up to 30 days before your scheduled trip.   Exceptions will be made when your guide cancels the trip due to river or weather conditions.
